How did flappers get their name? – 1920S Flapper Dress Black Style

Well, they were originally called “The Little Ladies of the Night”. But these flappers (a.k.a. “flappers” were very bad people) did what little they could to hide their true identity. The term “flapper” was coined by a prostitute after her client caught her exposing her breasts and then told her off as a “flapper” and a “chick”.

“Climb Clambake” lyrics: “We’ve got the right music in the right places / Everybody in the house must’ve heard it / Then I met the girl in the mirror / She had a beautiful voice like mine / She sang my favorite song / I told her she looked right too”

“I’m A King Bee” lyrics: “But they want me dead / ‘Cause this is all I’m good for / I want to be in the limelight / To talk about it and be all over the thing.”

“One Of My Turns” lyrics: “Oh my God I’m a king bee / I’m a king bee / I’m a king bee / I’m a king bee / I’m a king bee / I’m a king bee” (“Dangerous Liaisons”).

“We’ve Got The Right Music in the Right Places” lyrics: “One thing that is for certain / Everybody in the house must’ve heard it / Then I met the girl in the mirror / She had a beautiful voice like mine / She sang my favorite song / I told her she looked right too/ You’re a king bee just like us” (“I’m A King Bee”).

“Get In The Club” lyrics: “My mind is on the radio / And I say I can’t go a day without it / And I say I’ve got the wrong guy / And I’m a king bee / I’m a king bee / I’m a king bee / I’m a king bee I’m a king bee / King Bees, you ain’t heard nothin’ yet” (“Climb Clambake”).

“I Like You” lyrics: “What’s wrong with this guy? / What’s wrong with this guy? / What’s wrong with this guy? / What’s wrong with this guy? / What’s wrong with this guy? / King Bees don’t like shit that’s too close (to them)” (“Get In The Club”).
