What colors were popular 1920s? – 1920 Costumes Male

The answer is all of them: a range of black shirts in a range of colors from very light to a shade that looked like a cross between a salmon and a dark purple. In fact a majority of the top black shirts of the time were navy. But what about a different, more subdued color or two? Well, it gets a bit darker now that I think about it. You can see a few examples below of the 1930s that will certainly help you understand just how far back this trend was going.

The 1930s were not a great year for black shirts. This is certainly evident from these photos. In one case, a black shirt is worn with something pink. But that pink color is definitely in the mid-70s, so it is an early ’80s piece. The other example below shows a black shirt in a lighter shade — possibly a lighter blue, but we’ll ignore that for the moment. Here is a look at some of the most popular black shirts of the century. What do you think?

1930s: White shirt, white pants, black shirt.

1935: No name, black and white trousers, white shirt.

1945: Black and white, black shirt, white pants.

1950s: Black and white striped pants, white shirt.

In many ways it is an extraordinary story, a story that illustrates an important truth about the challenges of getting young people to take advantage of the opportunities that are available to them. It is the story of a family headed by a woman born into a Jewish family whose primary means of earning a living is as an actress in Hollywood and who has built up an array of savings — and a formidable network of friends — through years of hustling.
