You’ll need to submit the photo with a description from your web site or social network.
You’ll also need to take a photo. To make sure there’s no doubt, just get the lens cap out of the camera, take a photo and save it.
To sell the photo to Shutterstock, the photos needs to be of a high quality, in good condition for your business, and have the following information in your web site/s:
Your contact information
A full-sized screen capture
Links and references to your web site/s (you can find these links via the “Links” links on your web site/service pages)
A link to your business card
You’ll also need to attach a check mark in the right column at the top of the page by clicking on the word “Sign up.”

Shutterstock accepts images that don’t contain copyrighted images (e.g. photos of pets, etc.), but are in good-standing condition. This includes:
Publicly on Flickr
Publicly on Facebook
Publicly on Instagram
Publicly on Vine
Shutterstock can display your image in the “Stories” section of the “View” menu on your portfolio or as a featured image
You can send a copy of your portfolio/s to Shutterstock via fax, email or certified mail with all the above in place.

I love that I can choose to send money, but not to get something I want. I think these little things make a huge difference and that they would be great for any budget situation! The “Freezing” option adds a free month subscription to your subscription that you can then cancel at any time if you don’t want to pay for it.
The cost is $20 a month, and you can cancel at any time for the cost of a month. It also only applies to Canadian residents, which I guess it has nothing to do with the price (I believe it must be a tax issue). I haven’t seen this option on any of the USA sites, so I don’t really know what I’m supposed to do.
