“It’s so hard in this country to find the right music, the right scene, the right vibe to get across the line. It’s not all about selling tickets and getting the big crowds but really trying to make people feel something when they go,” she adds.
Cameron says it’s important to keep that passion burning inside and to remember that in 2015, the moment someone says “dance,” they might be talking about an entire generation.
“For young people, it’s not about the music. It’s just a phrase we use a lot. It’s a term of endearment for some people and then it just kind of goes away,” she says.
She recommends having a plan when it comes to booking acts, and to remember that you have to put a lot into getting your art in the spotlight, whether that means traveling internationally as a fan of a certain artist or working with a label.

Hurricane Harvey, which hit Texas and Louisiana late Friday, killed more than 70 people and left tens of thousands homeless, and had been expected to wreak more widespread destruction than Irma. Irma was a Category 3 storm as of Tuesday afternoon when it made its way across the Caribbean Sea, the worst hurricane of 2017 so far.
Trump said Sunday he had directed his administration to come up with an immediate response plan for the storm. He has pledged that the president will travel to Texas on Monday and deliver a $5 billion package that is expected for the upcoming appropriations cycle.
