Can you paint on canvas?
If so, how can you do your best at it?
A: If you paint in your spare time, you can probably still do better than I can. You just have to be more conscious about how you work. A lot of the time when I get done with a piece of art, I get really excited about putting it down. There are lots of great ways to apply the paint, but it really takes getting out and moving it around so I can find what works best for me. When I do, I paint as I’m thinking about what I’m going to paint next, which has a lot more payoff for me than, say, spraying paint in the middle of the day. I just have to keep moving and using my mind to create a thing I want to do. (It’s also good if you’ve got a good paint brush and paint can, which is something I have more of these days.)
How does this relate to spray painting?
To paint on canvas, I use paint pens with water, which I use to create a small line using the tip of the pen while I’m thinking about what I’m going to paint next. I also use my brush to apply paint to my canvas, and then I use spray paint to paint the lines in between the lines I’ve created with the brush. If you can’t do this, start by working slowly, getting things dry as quickly as possible, and then continue painting on a smaller basis, trying different things in between each line. What tips would you give to someone starting out on painting?
Start with your eyes open. Paint a small amount and make sure that the line of paint will adhere to the surface and look good.
